Welcome to UL CyberCamp 2026
The UL CyberCamp is designed to introduce second level students to some ICT basics.
This summer 2026, we are delighted to continue our return to in-person camps where students will be shown key elements of a modern ICT course and learn skills useful in any future career in ICT such as:
- Web design - build and format simple webpages
- Java programming - develop a simple one-person game
- Electronics & Robots - work with circuits and Mindstorm ® robots
UL CyberCamp is supported by the Summer Camps funding from the HEA. All places are free though limited spaces are available. We ask therefore that you limit your bookings to one place per child. For more information follow the links below.
About
The 3-day camp is designed to give second level students, between the ages of 13 and 17, a quick introduction to basic ICT subjects. Each camp has three topics (one for each day) that students will try out: Web Design, Greenfoot, and Electronics & Robots.
Each camp runs over three days from 9:30am to 4:00pm here on the University of Limerick campus with a daily set of in-person tutorials based around a single topic. The students will be led through the material for each topic by experienced presenters and work towards building a small project.
While there's lots to get through, we plan plenty of breaks throughout the day and students will work together to build their understanding of the content assisted by trained and experienced undergraduate and postgraduate students.
